EDUCATION GOALS

Sales and Marketing Council of Southern California (SMC/SC) exists for the purpose of advancing the discipline of marketing and sales through education, mutual support for personal and professional growth, networking and providing a forum for the exchange of ideas. SMC/SC continues to be an educational arm of the BIA, and regularly offers the following educational programs:

MIRM

The Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) educational series is offered at UC Irvine, and provides state-of-the-art knowledge in residential marketing. Courses are offered on-campus in the Fall, Winter and Spring Quarters at UC Irvine through UC Irvine's prestigious Extension programs, and the courses need not be taken in sequential order . Industry experts generously donate personal time to guest lecture throughout the year, providing first-hand knowledge and expertise of the building industry, as it relates to residential sales and marketing. Members who complete all 4 quarters will additionally receive a University of California Certificate in "Marketing for the Residential Builder," and will have fulfilled the educational requirements for membership in the NAHB's Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM.) Additionally, all four IRM courses are approved for continuing education credits with the California Department of Real Estate, and may be applied toward real estate license renewal.

CSP Class June 4, 11, 18, 25

The Sales and Marketing Council of Southern California will be holding its Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) class at First American Title, One American Way, Santa Ana in Garden Room 3 on June 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
